What are the BOA Awards?
The BOA Awards celebrate the creativity, artistry and spirit of the New South Wales burlesque community. It’s a night to honour the performers, producers and contributors who make our scene sparkle.

Who can nominate?
Anyone! Fans, fellow performers, producers and community members are all welcome to submit nominations.
Who can be nominated?
Any NSW-based performer, producer or industry figure who meets the eligibility criteria. You can also nominate yourself.
How long are nominations open?
First round nominations are open for two weeks, followed by a community voting period of 2–3 weeks for the finalists. Exact dates will be shared on the BOA Awards website and social media.
How are finalists chosen?
The top 10 nominees in each category are selected based on the number and quality of nominations received.
How are winners decided?
Once finalists are announced, the community votes for their favourites in each category. The nominee with the most valid votes wins.

What happens if I'm a finalist?
If you are a finalist in any category, the BOA Awards will contact you prior to the finalist announcements and voting period. You will be asked to supply promotional materials, which may include photographs, artist bios or similar.
Is there a judging panel?
No, the BOA Awards are 100% community-voted.
Can someone be disqualified?
Yes. The BOA Committee reserves the right to remove nominees, finalists or votes if they breach the Terms & Conditions - including fraudulent voting, harassment or providing false information.
Do I need to attend the ceremony to win?
No. Winners will be announced and celebrated during the BOA Awards ceremony, but attendance is not mandatory.
Will finalists and winners be featured online?
Yes! Finalists and winners will be celebrated across the BOA Awards’ official channels and at the ceremony itself.

To celebrate, uplift and unite the NSW burlesque community - recognising artistry, contribution and passion across all corners of the scene.
